These consented signs are critical in training AI models around sign language recognition technologies.
To put this in perspective, here are several publicly accessible datasets around sign language:
SignAvatars: 70,000 video clips from 153 signers.
ASL Citizen: 84,000 video clips from 52 signers.
ASL-Lex: 91,148 videos from 41 signers.
However, these datasets are available only for non-commercial use, which can be a barrier to accelerating technology development in deaf technologies. This is where GoSign.AI comes into the picture.
